GCC economic scale and the 2026 operating context

The GCC is a large, high-income economic area, but it is not one uniform market. GCC-STAT reports a combined population of 63.3 million and GDP at current prices of USD 2.4 trillion for 2025. It also reports 75.7 million inbound tourists and average annual inflation of 1.8% for the same year, while total merchandise trade reached USD 1,589.5 billion in 2024.

Energy market access around ADIPEC 2026

ADIPEC 2026 is scheduled for 2–5 November at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi. The organiser presents the exhibition as a platform for more than 2,250 exhibitors and lists specialised areas spanning AI, maritime and logistics, digitalisation, low-carbon and chemicals, grids, infrastructure and industrial execution. Scale alone is not a reason to exhibit. The business case depends on target-account concentration, access to the relevant buying layer and a disciplined plan before and after the event. For many international suppliers, a focused visitor or meeting programme can be a better first validation step than stand expenditure.

Technology market entry around GITEX GLOBAL 2026

GITEX GLOBAL’s current official 2026 material uses two Dubai venues. The GITEX Summit opens on 7 December at Dubai World Trade Centre; the exhibition then moves to Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai from 8–11 December, with Expand North Star inside the Expo City programme. A five-day itinerary must therefore preserve the venue change rather than treating either DWTC or Expo City as the sole location.

Saudi Arabia current market status: economy, demand and execution

Saudi Arabia entered 2026 after strong 2025 expansion. The IMF records 4.6% real growth and 4.2% non-oil growth for 2025, while the national statistical release reports 4.5% and 4.9% respectively. The difference is retained as a source-definition issue rather than averaged away. The IMF July 2026 Article IV projects growth slowing to 1.7% in 2026 and non-oil growth to 2.6% because conflict, maritime disruption and weaker confidence interrupted trade and activity. The projection assumes gradual normalisation and is not an observed result.

United Arab Emirates current market status: economy, demand and execution

Federal statistics report 6.2% GDP growth in 2025, nominal GDP of AED 1.9 trillion and 6.8% non-oil growth. Construction, financial services, real estate, transport and manufacturing all made material contributions, but national averages do not identify the best emirate or buyer ecosystem for a company. The IMF July 2026 review describes strong institutional and financial resilience while noting conflict-related pressure on tourism, transportation, trade and real estate. It expects 2026 output to be slightly lower before a strong 2027 rebound, conditional on gradual normalisation.

Qatar current market status: economy, demand and execution

Qatar entered 2026 with a strong pre-conflict medium-term thesis based on LNG expansion, non-hydrocarbon growth and fiscal and external buffers. National statistics record 3.7% real growth and 5.3% non-hydrocarbon growth in the first quarter of 2025. The IMF April 2026 reference scenario projects an 8.6% contraction in 2026 followed by an 8.6% rebound in 2027. These unusually large movements are conflict- and LNG-disruption-sensitive estimates and must not be merged with the February pre-conflict mission outlook.

Kuwait current market status: economy, demand and execution

The February 2026 Article IV described a recovery path based on oil production normalisation, public investment and 3.0% non-oil growth. The IMF April 2026 regional update subsequently cut the 2026 real-GDP projection to -0.6% under a conflict-sensitive reference scenario. Kuwait retains large external buffers and substantial institutional purchasing power, but the commercial route remains procurement-intensive. Project need, budget authority, tender stage and eligibility must be verified separately.

Bahrain current market status: economy, demand and execution

Bahrain’s January 2026 Article IV projected 3.3% growth for 2026, supported by refinery capacity, finance, tourism, logistics and digital activity. The IMF April 2026 regional reference scenario later projected a 0.5% contraction, reflecting conflict exposure. The market combines a mature financial regulator, compact business networks and industrial and logistics links to Saudi Arabia. These are advantages only when the activity and cross-border revenue model are specific.

Oman current market status: economy, demand and execution

Oman’s June 2026 IMF review reports 2.4% growth in 2025 and projects 3.7% in 2026, supported by higher oil production and the location of major ports outside the Strait of Hormuz bottleneck. Non-hydrocarbon growth is projected to ease to 2.5% in 2026 before recovering to 3.2% in 2027. Tourism and construction are among the channels affected by the regional conflict, while ports and non-hydrocarbon exports support resilience.

Demand spans conventional energy resilience, grids, renewables, storage, industrial efficiency and hydrogen, but each buying system has separate technical and financial gates. The 2026 regional shock increases the value of reliability, routing and continuity while also changing project economics, insurance and delivery assumptions. A credible opportunity names the asset, owner, operating metric, qualification path and local service model.
